The
Hamsters grow to 10 cm-18 cm (4 "to 7"), usually females are larger and weigh more.

Hamsters are great family pets because they need very little space and are easy to care, either sex that an animal just as good.
Long haired hamsters bear or stuffed animal are very cuddly, but require more care as they need regular grooming. Dwarf hamsters are very cute, but not all are suitable as pets for children. Russian and Roborovski Hamsters tend to be friendlier and easier to handle.

There are 24 species of hamster, but only a few of them are kept as pets. The best known are the golden hamsters, or Syria, but you can find other types of hamsters in pet stores today. You can buy at pet stores or local breeders hamsters. Wherever you buy, make sure you are in a large cage, clean and staff or breeders are knowledgeable, and the hamster is used to being handled.
