The survey, carried 24,000 people in 23 countries found that 21% of adults would rather spend February 14 with your pet, even though the French were least likely to choose a furry friend instead of a human , with only 10 percent choosing the option.
However, the survey found that age and income were a determining factor than nationality when it came to romance. Younger people and those with lower incomes were more likely to choose their pet as their Valentine's company.
25% of people under 35 opted for their pet instead of their partner, compared to 18% of people between 35 and 54 years old, and 14% of respondents over 55 years.
Those who chose pets over people were also more likely to have less income, with 24%, while people with low income chose their pets by 20% of cases.
By country, the residents of Turkey were more likely to choose their pet over their spouse or partner, with 49 percent.
